GUEST SPEAKERS

Alice Brennan, Digital Marketing Coordinator, The Funding Network Australia – https://www.thefundingnetwork.com.au
Australian non-profit organisation and part of a global network that hosts live collective-giving events in a fun and inclusive setting. Our members nominate and select four social entrepreneurs with small, non-profit organisations, who then pitch for funding from the audience at each event. Adopting a model that has flourished in the UK since 2002, TFN makes it possible for individuals, foundations and corporations to give collectively, (in increments starting from as little as $100), whilst aiming to raise at least $10,000 for every organisation that pitches. TFN offers social entrepreneurs the rare opportunity to showcase their work, secure funding and mentoring, and to expand their donor base and networks.

Kelly Tagalan, City Manager, Elance-oDesk – https://www.elance-odesk.com
Kelly Tagalan is the City Manager for Elance-oDesk in Sydney, and facilitator of entrepreneur communities The Pulse and #StartupWindDown. Elance-oDesk operates two of the world’s leading platforms for online work (www.elance.com and www.odesk.com), with 8 million freelancers in 180 countries earning US$750 million per year. Kelly is responsible for Elance-oDesk’s community presence in Sydney, where she is helping to build a strong, vibrant, and sustainable startup ecosystem. Originally from San Francisco, Kelly shifted from a career in non-profit education to working in Sydney’s Silicon Beach.
